Yesterday we spent the morning lolling on the beach in Anjuna - trying to cover our burnt hands (thats right, HANDS! - we've never had burnt hands before either, so watch out for that, if you come here!). We left the unbearably scorching beach around 1.00pm and headed back to our room to shower and freshen up before getting the bus to Calangute.
On arriving in Calangute we walked up the main road to the neighbouring resort of Baga, occasionally stopping in the odd shop and passing through yet another Tibetan market.
Once in Baga we headed straight to check out the beach and was not disappointed - we decided to return another day, as a change of scenery. We then decided to find somewhere to eat and found a lovely little restaurant down a small side street, where we had our best meal yet! Calamari Massala, for Laura and Kingfish for Sarah - truely delicious and even better washed down with a Bacardi Breezer! (The only downside being 'entertained' by the owner's daughter - she was cute for the first 5 minutes!) Following this we headed to a local bar for Laura to get her footie fix, only for there to be a powercut at half time (again!)! We ceased this opportunity to head for the Saturday Night Bazaar, which we took a motorbike taxi to, to speed through the traffic.
On arrival, we were not disappointed - it was a hugest, most colourful, mixture of a market we'd ever been to! We spent a couple of hours wondering round, soaking up the atmosphere, eating lemon cheesecake and chocolate brownie! After we'd completed the massive site, we walked back to nearby Anjuna.
This morning we took our time and went for a stroll round the back of the beachside restaurants before settling on a sunlounger around lunchtime. The afternoon was only interupted by a chill out and a cheese and tomatoe toastie in the shade. It was a much more bearable and enjoyable day in the sun, which our hands were surely glad of! This evening we returned to our fave beachside restaurant for Calamari curry and massala and papaya lassi (mmm!).
