And relax...
Today we decided to have a chill out day so we headed to the miette hot springs. The springs are heated up naturally when water seeps deep into the ground, it is then forced back up to the surface at around 40-50 degrees. The water is then cooled at the springs and spilt in to 4 pools, 40 degrees (lorna's favourite) 38 degrees (stef's favourite) 20 degrees (cold) and 14 degrees (madness!). Stef took the plunge into the 14 degree pool and lasted about ten seconds!
The pools were the perfect place to relax in and take in the spectacular view of alpine forests and mountains!
On the journey back to jasper we saw a moose! So we have now completed the jasper animal big 5! In fact lots of animals were running across the roads today including deer and bear!
In the afternoon we headed to jasper town to look in the gift shops! We then decided to treat ourselves to steak dinner! Know where does steak like north America - delicious!
As it was our final night at our rustic campsite (wabasso) , we decided to head back earlier and go for a walk down the river path. To our amazement we spotted bear tracks, it looked like an adult and a cub! We were even more excited when we realised they were fresh so we followed them! After half a mile they headed deep into the forest, we didn't fancy following them in there!
We have both loved jasper national park. It will always be a special place to us as we have lots of happy memories here! Tomorrow we head for Banff!
With love
Stefan and Lorna xxxx
