Took a wrong turn?!?!
We were both tired this morning after staying up to see the stars! It was just amazing how many stars were visible! The longer you stared the more you saw! It really was magical, we even saw lots of shooting stars! And Stefan's fire kept us warm!
So today we settled for a nice relaxing bike ride down some country paths.... or so we thought! We navigated our way successfully to pyramid lake. This lake was very tranquil and less visited than many of the other lakes around jasper! So it was the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a delicious cookie from our favourite bakery!
After some time chilling out by the lake we decided to head back to jasper. We thought we would try a different route through the forest to see if we could spot some more wildlife! So we set off down the path called route 2, after 10 minutes we had re-named the path!
The route started off ok but soon developed into an obstacle course, which made our whistler down hill mountain experience seem tame! We had to negotiate roots, fallen trees, muddy bogs and steep inclines. To top it all off we then found ourselves in the middle of a thick forest with warning signs of recent wolf attacks in the area - we thought it was just bears we needed to be concerned about! We knew we couldn't go back so we decided to peddle on as quick as we could!
Thankfully, after some speedy work we saw a turn off to route 15 (stef's lucky number) so we took it! This was a good choice! The route was much calmer, more what we had in mind for the day! It took us safely into jasper town and into the diner for a well earned drink!
Tomorrow we are hitting the spa! Surely we can't get into trouble there!?!
With love
