Walking with elephants……in the rain

Another day out in the field….it was home from home…cold and wet today and the guides hated it... everything was wet, but what brightened up my morning those elephants. They walked down to the damn, and were playing in the mud and Tosha was in the water swimming…. How an elephant can make the most of the weather…. Compare that to us trying to keep warm and me battling with soggy paper that I was trying to record data on! But how could I not smile. It did brighten up this afternoon and it was another full day out in the field with the activity budget. This is the normal routine Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday doing, A.B’S and Monday and Fridays mixed with fruit chopping, data entry, boma, milk, alien invasive etc.

The park in darkness….. As I spent the last few days being in the park during the day at night the stars can be so clear and the full moon lights up the park. To take a walk at night, with the sounds of the frogs and other creatures witch fill your ears with sounds. It was a perfect way to end the day, as I walked to the view point where you can see the whole park in front of you, this is home for the next 3 weeks!:)!.
