Wow! How excitement!! I met FAMOUS people today!!! Well OK, they're not famous yet…but they definitely will be in not so many years from now! This afternoon I went to see Bri's "Scenes" performance at NIDA and spent several hours having my mind blown. The talent was incredible, and the calibre of acting was just so impressive. Honestly, walking down the halls and seeing photos of Cate Blanchett and Mel Gibson on the walls in NIDA productions of the past sent shivers down my spine because when I saw Bri perform I knew (just as I have known for so many years) that she has what it takes to be an incredible star just like them. Haha She is probably reading this and blushing and going 'gah omg stop' but I reserve the right to boast like the proud best friend I am! Plus, I have to set myself up now for tickets to the Oscars down the track…=P
When we went back to our hotel afterwards I battled for about an hour trying to get the damn form for the US consulate to print out (seriously, could this be any more difficult???)! But it worked out in the end and all the troubles with visas and passports were sweetened a little when I got an email from SFU telling me that I've been accepted for on-campus housing, and also from UWA telling me that I've been awarded an exchange scholarship! Hurrah! That should pretty much cover the extra expenses involved in replacing my passport and reissuing my visa =I haha No, I'm definitely stoked and it'll be lovely to have a little extra spending money…which I will begin by spending on gloves! Because even here in Sydney it's feeling super cold and got down to about 7 degrees today, so I'm gonna need to get myself well prepared cause that aint gonna be nothing compared to the weather in Vancouver!
This evening Esther, Mum, and I chillaxed in the hotel with some good quality room service and discussed the jaw-droppingly amazing scenes we had watched this afternoon. I'm so excited because I'm going out with all of them tomorrow night and this is probably the closest I'll ever come to a red carpet Hollywood party! I'll be sure to get many photos and possibly even autographs to flog down the track.
Anyway, gotta be at the US consulate at 730AM tomorrow so I'm gonna catch some shut eye (I hope, turns out my Mum's snoring is strong enough even to penetrate super industrial strength workplace ear plugs…I feel safe writing this because I know she probably won't read any of these blogs til she gets home many, many weeks from now when we will be separated by many, many miles hehe)
Sweet dreams,
LIVxo
