We set off from Buenos Aires for the 5 hour journey and arrived to a blustery sea side bus station. We walked to check out some hotels near to the bus station but they were all closed because it was low season, so we had to get a cab to the centre. Here, most of the hotels were also closed, but we managed to check into the welcoming Prostitutes Hotel for Little Chinese Men.Whenever we ventured out of the room the dining area was full of chinese men and latin prostitutes who were drinking beer at 8am. We, however, managed to get told off for drinking coffee on the sofa.
We went down to the sea front which had a hideous pier and grafittied sea lion statues.Museo del Mar was also visited - a museum dedicated solely to sea shells. And some aquarium stuff where we saw the faces on sting rays.
We also visited tourist information where we were attended to a very thorough, but very slow speaking, spastic. When he realised where we were from, he switched to English. This only made his speech even slower. Whenever we asked a simple question he had to telephone someone to find out, which involved him wimbling over to the phone in a very unstable manner. His eyes also goggled out and were wonky. We managed to control ourselves until we had left and then vowed never to visit tourist information again.
We had an old gas fire in our room that was turned on for us when we first arrived. Once it had been turned off though, we didnt know how to turn it back on. One of the hotel kulaks came and helped us when we asked. Soon the fire was dismantled on the floor and then the handle fell off it. This was all normal apparently. Soon the fire was lit with the aid of a candle being poked inside it. We were very scared and never asked for the fire to be lit again.
We soon left and ran away to our next sea side destination.
Final thoughts: Everybody hates it.
