Everywhere looks better in the sunshine! Everyone appears happier too... Well most, there are still a few Germans displaying their usual "ignorance". Lighter mornings, clear blue skies, warmth and lighter evenings have all made the past winter seem so far away, we've all forgotten how ridiculously cold and miserable it had been for almost 6 months now the suns out!

My body is just getting used to the changes in earlier sun rises and later sunsets! Not something that you ever thought about in Kenya, 7-7 was always the way no matter what time of year.

Having the birds back is what I am really noticing, loving hearing the birdsong daily! Again this make a difference in the way that you feel!

Berlin life aint so bad!

May is also a great month! Bearly any working days for a teacher, bank holidays and bridge days are fantastic and warmy welcomed! Not to mention the half term!! Things are looking up!

Sitting outside! Crazy thought just a few weeke ago, but now its the norm. It does make me ask the question of 'what do people do?' I mean the cafe bars and beer gardens are always full, no matter what day it is. All people seem to do is drink beer daily! A great lifestyle if you can one, afford it! and two, cope!! my bodys always left in peices after a day out in a beer garden! These guys are doing this all week long! Must be artists!!

Last week we were able to enjoy some time spent in the Tiergarten having a picnic! This is how you roll as a "Berliner". A great day, which perhaps went on a tad too long! Thursday back at work was a struggle!! But it's been so long since we've seen the sun and had such wonderful temperatures!! We need to be out in it all day! You can see those people with sensitive skin getting pinker and pinker as the days move on!

What the good weather has brought to my attention are all the great places to go walkiing and exploring. The amount of green areas in Berlin is amazing. For such a major City, the green areas are well protected and very peaceful, you'd never know you were in a city. The water ways too are awesome places now the sun is shining!!

Vino in the parks, Pils in the beer gardens... This summer could leave me needing another big winter to hibinate and recover!!
