We were reluctant to leave Bolivia. Firstly because of the sheer beauty of Copocabana, which I fell in love with. Secondly, we didn't want to leave Bolivian prices - we got to used to slap up meals and cheap wine. And thirdly our bus to Peru left right in the middle of the England football match. But not to worry, we actually arrived at the border in time to watch England score as they had a TV in Passport Control.
Still being gullible travellers (will we ever learn?) we agreed to stay at the bus drivers recommended hostel. His brochure made the hotel look so glitzy. We got there and it was rubbish so stormed out to the hotel next door. Not much better but atleast it was cheaper and had lovely chintzy floral decorations.
Our first impressions of Puno weren't great. So we decided to make our stay very brief and booked a trip for tomorrow and train out of here for the day after.
Not sure what happened to Aidan that night. We went to a restaurant and he ordered the local speciality Alpaca steak. Can you believe it, he actually left his food! We had to go back to our hotel and he went to bed he felt so ill. Not sure what was wrong with him but he woke up the next morning at 6am, back to his usual self.
This picture is the most attractive one we took of Puno - some lovely hedges!
Katie.
