Oh the joys of the Baz Bus. Now I was not sure at the time if this was the setting of the routine that was to come but I sure hope it was not. After becoming accustomed to a short but sweet lie in over the last few days we set back into the horrendous concept of hideous oclock. We had to get up at 5.30am to be ready for the baz bus that was picking us up at 6.30. So we were ready and we waited ...and waited until 45 mins later it showed up. Now we were the first pick up so lord only knows what the problem was.
Anyhow we got on the bus and set about picking other people up. There was a familiar face or two on the bus that we had seen the day before which was cool. The actual journey was fairly cool, the garden route is quite scenic with plenty of forests and lagoons to look at on the way. So our first stop was mossell bay. This is a fairly small town but you need to go exploring to truly appreciate it as at first glance it may seem like a nothing town but this isnt the case. We stayed at a fairly cosy backpackers which happened to be putting on some traditional food which we sampled whilst lazing in a hammock in the garden.
The night was a fairly quiet one. We met couple called Matt and Ali who turned ut to be doing a firly similar route to us which was cool so we sat comparing notes sipping savannah dry (my new favourite drink).
The next day was a bit of a scorcher. We had a few hours to pass by before the baz bus came to pick us up so we went on a hike. This hike took in some rather lovely coastal scenery where you could see the waves crashing off the rocks with great power, surfers, swimmers and lots of cute little animals. We must have walked for about three hours it was pretty easy going although I discovered that I must just walk fairly fast as I had to keep stopping to wait for the others as I went into a worl of my own which many of you will have been witness to before. It is quite a sight.
The day went quickly and before we knew it the baz bus was here to collect us. Now who should we see on the bus but ben and Dan the two british guys from the cape of good hope tour. It is always lovley to see familiar faces even if in reality they are not that familiar. On this particular bus we were treated to the film ice age2 which we found quite enertaining I dont know about anyone else on the bus but we didnt care as there was much guffawing going on but when there is a choice of ice age or mr bean i know which one I would go for no questions.
