So we took an overnight bus from Cajamarca to Lima on Wednesday night. The overnight buses are really nice. We got the 4 panoramic seats up front, but it was night so they weren't all that cool.
We got to Lima at around 9:30am on Thursday and took a taxi to the sister workers' batch. Diane Broughton met us there, and made us feel right at home. I got to share a room with Diane, Elisa shared a room with Patti McDonald, and Sue and Jordan got their own room. Sure was nice to get to see those sisters again!
After we got a little siesta that morning, Sue took us to see a little bit of Lima. We ate lunch and walked around the city - made me realize Lima is a HUGE city. Just to give you an idea of how big it is, Sue said that if you started in the very north of Lima and drove all the way to the south, it would take about 3.5 hrs.
We made our way to the beach and got to relax there for about 30 mins - there was even free wifi so the girls were pretty excited about that!
We were going to bring Diane and Patti home some pizza for dinner but it turned out to be 9:30pm before we got home. We walked into the Marriott in Lima on our way home - it was super fancy and their desserts were amazing!!
Anyway, we made it home and they had pizza. I was really tempted to eat some, but I had some pollo a la brasa instead. It was deeelicious. :)
Friday we woke up early to go to the airport. Our flight to Cusco was supposed to leave at 10, but traffic is awful in Lima so we left early. Turns out that all the airport people were on Peruvian time - not in a hurry at all so we ended up leaving at 11:15!
Guess ill write more in another post about Cusco.

Abuela So glad to know that you are having such a wonderful time and privileges. No doubt you enjoyed getting to know Patty and Diane. We were with Patty and Lindaura in Cusco and enjoyed them very much. We are anxious to hear about your trip to Machu Pichu and to see some pictures. Hopefully the llamas will be around the area and you'll be able to see them at close range. Keep on enjoying it!! Besos.
