So. We are a little behind on our updates, but we haven't had access to Internet since we landed in Peru. We are at a little cafe here in a city named Chota drinking coffee with Sue and her niece, Jordan. Here is the first update that we wrote, and will hopefully post more as the week goes on.
Made it to Lima! I quickly remembered how rusty my Spanish is..it will be good to practice again.
One thing I have already found interesting about Lima - there are no lines on the roads going through the city so feel free to drive wherever, they didn't really mean stop when a stop sign was put there, and if a bus pulls out in front of you on the road, just drive on the median to avoid him instead of slowing down (but try to miss the rocks and trees and other cars).
Yony Zavaleta, one of the friends, was there at the airport with a sign with our names on it, waiting for us. He and another friend with a car drove us to the house of Luis and Elsa Efos, where we spent the night.
This afternoon we are going to take a bus to Cajamarca - from there we will catch another bus to Olmos where the special meeting is on Sat and Sun. Elsa, the lady of the home told us last night that now that they put a speed limit, the ride to Cajamarca takes about 3 hours longer! So the ride is 16 hours long, but hopefully we will get to sleep.
That's all for now I guess. Have a good afternoon.
