So Sunday night we hiked down in the rain to the road to see some workers off and also to meet Sue and Jordan.
Sunday evening we had a delicious dinner of chicharrones, potatoes, and rice. We spent the night at that home and then the next day we went up the hill again to help tear down after special meeting. On the way down, one of our friends cooked a guinea pig so we could taste it. It wasn't too bad...tasted like chicken! ;) probably wouldn't eat the foot again though...toenails were a little too crunchy for me.
So we made it down the hill and caught a taxi that here they call a combi to go down to Chota. Our tailbones are very bruised after riding an hour in the back of a pickup! We had left some of our things there and also that is where we caught the combi to Cajamarca. The bus from Chota to Cajamarca was about 5 hours.
So here we are in Cajamarca, enjoying having a couple of down days. Don Giberto and Doña Gregoria have been very kind hosts for the past two days, and we are going to miss them.
Time for lunch, maybe more later.
