Hey, we are now in Koh Phangan - which is about 40 minutes boat journey from Koh Samui, we're staying right near to where the full moon party takes place. Tonight is the half moon party and is taking place in the jungle, meant to be bout 15,000 people there so should be interesting.
Koh Samui was lovely and we ended up spending 4 days there. Half in Chewang which is the lively bit and half in a fishermans village in Bophut - which was lovely. It was a lot quieter than Chewang but had gorgeous beaches and restaurants. (Pretty much all we've been doing, sleeping eating and sunbathing!!) Stayed in a french hotel in the fishermans village which was really nice and had a shower with Hot water!! Also had a balcony looking out to sea -reminded me a bit of La Manga! 2nd night in the village we got a cheapy place 400bt (5 pounds) - it was ok but we had shared bathroom. Dave obv thinks he is the more responisble of us so has taken charge of keys money etc.. however this night we get back from restaurant about midnight and he's rummaging around his bag. Can't find the key to get in the room - the office downstairs is closed so we've got no chance of getting in! Great - thought we were going to have to spend the night asleep on the floor outside the room!! Not happy!!
Luckily none of the other rooms on the floor were occupied and they were unlocked!! We ended up sleeping in a nicer room than the one we'd paid for. Only problem was we needed to be out of there early so they didn't try and charge us for two rooms!! So 6am the next morning the alarm goes and we went out for breakfast. It was actually nice being out so early we saw all the Thai people getting their food from the market stalls and sat on the beach as the sun was rising! When we returned to our room and acted dumb about leaving the key in the room the landlady let us in. We couldn't find the key in the room which leaves us a bigger problem - you have to pay loads if you lose a key!! Off Dave sets for the restaurant we ate in, while he's gone i go rumaging through his bag just to make sure its not there and low and behold there it was in the pocket!! Which just goes to show men can't be trusted with anything. I am now in charge of the keys!!
Other than that nothing else to exciting been happening, we went out on Thursday in Chewang and got hammered on Vodka & redbull buckets! So cheap but deadly!! Would have been fine but we were moving resort the next day and Dave kept having to be sick!! Not nice as i'm sure you can imagine - esp being how much i love people being sick!!
Still weather is lovely now and the place is gorgeous - we both got sunburnt yesterday. We're now living in a bungalow looking out to the sea - its even got a hammock on the veranda. We're going to stay here for a week or so and save some pennies as they are dwindeling fast. (don't worrry mum we are def budgeting - this place has no air con or tv and cold water!! v. cheap 500bt) we're getting a bus to Krabi which is the other side of Thailand and from there going to do Phi Phi which everyone has told us is the most beautiful island. (the beach was filmed at an island just off there)
We're going to see a Thai boxing match whilst here and planning to get a boat trip round the island to see some of the caves and waterfalls. Also thinking of hiring mountain bikes to ride round the island. i'll be so fit by the time i get home - we've done loads of swimming & walking up hills!
Nothing else to report except if you come to Thailand don't eat indian food it doesn't taste like English Indian!!
Love Lou & Dave xxx
