Hey All, We are now in Krabi - in a town called Ao Nang which is on the West of the country near the Andamen Sea. We got a bus over from phangan which was ok actually - the boat to mainland took bout three hours then bout the same over by bus. Problem was they were on commission so they stopped off at two cafe's trying to make us buy food!! Bit annoying!! Then they dropped us off in completely the wrong part of Krabi and we had to pay more money to get to the right location!! All ok in the end though, we got a nice room with hot water which we hadn't had for a week and it is soooo nice! We've even got a TV and watched meet the Fockers last night!! Went out for dinner and saw a guy with a monkey who was sooooo cute (the monkey) we got to hold him and had a piccie taken holding him. The bloke charged us 200bt though which is more than our dinner would cost!! Dave wasn't impressed!! Next day we went elephant trekking - it was cool!! Bit scary at first as the elephants were massive!! And you have to sit on this seat up top with no seat belts or anything!! They took us through a jungle where we saw rubber trees and where they filmed part of the beach ( the bit with the marijuana plants, which incidently were potato and banana plants if anyone is interested) it was a nice day. I felt a bit sorry for the elephants though as they were brusied so i don't know how well looked after they really are. In the eve, we went out for dinner and drinks (they have bars on carts by the roadside and everyone just sits on stools in the street drinking. V. random). We ended up in the Irish bar next door - Dave has found a beer with 7% which he seems to like v. much!! And its cheap so he likes it even more!! Tomorrow we are catching a boat to Phi Phi - we hope we are anyway. Its a national holiday in Thailand so we have to see if they are working. Fingers crossed and we'll write soon!! Lou and Dave xxx
