We decided that on Saturday we would venture out and stay the night in Carcassonne. It's about a 2-3hr drive from Avene, & a place of the Medievil City.
Well it was a lovely drive and we saw lots of things along the way, including these HUGE wind turbines which everyone seemed to slow down to look at.
We made it to Carcassonne and found out that we had arrived during their annual Spanish Fiesta- Woohoo party time. After having a little walk around and coming accross lots of little street parties we then checked into our accommodation and set off down the road to the "Train Stop" to catch the tourist train around the town and outside of the Carcassonne City Castle. The litttle Train ride itself was exciting and Kobi loved it. We then decided to get off back in town and have an early dinner then head accross the road into the festival. There was a stage set up for entertainment and lots of stals selling the local foods and drinks- as the night went on more and more people came out to join in the celebrations. We decided to call it a night and get a taxi home, however there weren't any taxi's around as it was so busy with the festival- so we decided just to start walking. It was a whole other experience Carcassonne by Night- the Castle and surrounds were lite up and it looked amazing.
On the Sunday we went up to the Medieveil City to explore and go looking for this "Princess" Kobi had been going on about. We took yet another Train ride around the outside, this time with a guided comentary. Then we went in and looked around. There were lots of shops, cafes etc etc to look in throughout the inside aswell as the old ruins of the city. It really was very pretty, even if it had been commercialised for today's tourists.
After quite afew hours there we decided to head back to Avene beofre it got too late.
Sunday night we meet some new guests that had come from South Africa for treatments for their children. Once again Kobi loved having another friend, James and Kobi will be having some photos on Wednesday together.
Today (Tuesday) we are off again after treatments to explore Clermont l'Herault which is proberly about an hours drive away and have a picnic lunch.
Kobi is doing really well and he is loving the treatments. We are keeping an eye on areas where we have noticed depigmentation on Kobi's skin however it could just be because those areas were badly effected by eczema before and has damaged the skin cells.
Kobi has enjoyed drawing in his scrapbook and adding things as we go along our journey. I think he is also looking forward to getting home to his Daddy, friends and family.
Till our next blog.................... XOXO...................
