Well, week 1 has come to an end and Kobi has done so well.
He has willingly put his head under the water without any persausion and taken to it like a duck to water. Something that we have always had difficulty in getting him to do as the "water" freaked him out & stung his skin.
He has had a few little spots come up on his face and cheeks that have been itchy, but we are not sure yet if that was the water or something he ate or touched.
He has also had a night or two where he has been coughing and really hot, not sure if his asthma has been affeted- however thanks to Melaine (Two little boys to Avene) we have a fan to borrow to cool Kobi down.
He has been very compassionate towards other children during their treatments and tries to encourage them that the water will help.
This week has just been a chillout week and we haven't ventured too far, we have all been so tired and sleeping till about 9am. Kobi's treatments have been in the evenings for this week which has been different & I think we are all looking forward to the morning treatments from next week.
Kobi has been sleeping through the night (awesome) & has really soft skin at the moment. His depigmentation of his skin around his ankles seems to be more promonent, however we are trying to focus on those areas during this treatment to see if we can help it regain colour again.
The weather has been beautiful, perfect for a visit to the playground or scootering down by the park.
Saturday night I (Megan) had a a dinner date with Dana (Morgan's Mum, "Morgan's Mission" from the UK) in Lunas at Chatau De Lunas, it was lovely to have some timeout and chat about everything. On the way back to the car I stopped at the local Fete (Fair) that was all of 1 ride and 2 stalls and I won Kobi a Transformer & soccer ball- he loves them. That night we had a massive storm an there was thunder and lightening all through the valley Avene is in it was pretty scary.
Sunday was a wash out, however we still decided we would venture out to go exploring. Wow what an adventure, it was absolutly pouring with rain we coud hardly see on the motorway- however we made it to our destination "DINOSAUR LAND", it stopped raining for the time that we were there walking around and Kobi had an absolute ball (sorry Clive Palmer but it was better than your's and a 1/4 of the price!) After that we went further north then headed home only for the Sat Nav to advise us that there was a Road Block 20km ahead. We had seen something earlier in the oposite direction but thought it would be cleared by the time we would headed home. Oh well let's just "wing it", we know how to work this stat nav and we have a map we can work it out. We did, we went the "adventurous" way home and we came across some amazing sights.
Next week Mum (Vivien) is taking Kobi to some of the treatments so I can have a break. We are also looking forward to doing the Production Plant/Factory tour this time and having a look at how everything is bottled/manufctured here at Avene.
We have been looking back over some of the photos from last year, comparing them with this year and what a difference there is in Kobi. He has grown so much and you can tell he looks much healthier.
There are still things we are working on, but slow and steady wins the race.
Next week we will see the Derm DR again, just to check up and see if we need to change any of Kobi's treatments.
We are going to try to visit some other beautiful places this week and add them to Kobi's adventures. Stay turned for our next blog.................
