Arrived at the end of the Camino today. I expected crowds of people in the plaza but there is only a modest number of people here. I did see 2 young women from Norway in the cathedral that I had met earlier in my travels. I'm awaiting the arrival of some of my buddies, which I expect will be tomorrow. Now that I'm here it feels strange that I don't need to head on down the road.
What I've learned or has been reinforced by this journey:
It's important to keep moving forward, even if it's one step at a time. Life continues regardless of any painful burdens I carry.
I can be self sufficient and at the same time need the companionship of others. Isolation doesn't work well for me.
Reaching out to others rather than waiting for others to reach out to me is very rewarding and not so difficult to do.
Letting go of judgements is liberating and opens opportunities to appreciate others more.
Acts of kindness from strangers are not so rare, and it inspires initiating those acts toward others.
Too much predictability and control limits enjoyment. Surprises can delight, and learning to make the best out of a less than comfortable situation has its own rewards. Moving out of my comfort zones has shown me how flexible I can be, and has added enjoyment and challenge to life.
People who are very different from one another can forge close ties. Leaving those stereotypes and unfounded assumptions behind is also liberating.
Intergenerational interactions are delightful and incredibly valuable. There were so many on the Camino.
I'm still capable of learning new skills, setting new goals, and facing challenges successfully.
The people I love the most make life worth living, and I carry them with me wherever I go.

marla As I said before, I loved reading all of your posts. I feel as if I've gotten to know you in a new way. You are inspiring me, too. Thank you!
Judy What a trip! You have been an inspiration for all of us, teaching us by example that we can and should reach higher than we think is possible. At the office, we live by the motto "What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?" It seems you have exemplified how rewarding living without fear can be. Can't wait to hear the stories in person and see the rest of the pictures. Enjoy a much needed few days of relaxation. Love you lots.
