Two major milestones reached today. The first is that I've crossed over into Galicia, the province that goes to the Atlantic, and the final one on the Camino. More exciting is that there are less than 100 miles to Santiago. I should be able to complete the Camino in 5-6 days. I'm still contemplating walking to Finisterre, the end of the ancient world on the coast.
The small village I'm staying at is perched atop a mountain at about 6000 ft., most of which I climbed today. The views are stunning on all sides. The hostel tonight is more like a factory. I thought hostel life couldn't surprise me at this point, but my bed in a top bunk is right next to my neighbor's bed; no space in between our mattresses, no kidding. My neighbor is an older man that I've never seen before. There are about 50 people in the room.
Juliana asked me if I met a billionaire yet. Really I'm meeting people spending about 6 euro to sleep each night in a barracks. Even though I've seen so many men, young and old, in their underwear, none seem to be prospects for jet setting me to the haunts of the rich and famous. There is a shy Spanish guy who wants to take my photo when I'm geared up with my backpack. I have no idea what that's about. He asked a young Irish guy to ask me if he could take my picture.
The food in this province seems better already. I'm eating dinner, so that's all for now.

Neil Perhaps your next challenge should be yachting from port to port in the Mediterranean. The scenery would be nice; you'd have access to great food; and you could sleep on the boat every night; you could let the wind propel you. Just a thought.
Marla Wow, you're a good sport sleeping in a room with 50 others. Life will seem so easy when you are back!
Juliana Clark Thinking of you today! Happy birthday to Dad/Larry. Love you mom! be safe.
