The photo is of a palace or govt. building designed by Gaudi. I walked through Astorga and am in a small village on a mountainside. Besides the hostal there's not much here besides crumbling old homes and structures. Tomorrow's hike takes me to the highest point on the Camino.
Last night I stayed in a most wonderful lodging in another small village. It is a restored 100 year old home where a young couple lives and runs a private hostel. It was more like a country inn, with modern facilities but maintaining the charm of the he's origins. Only 5 of us stayed there, and the owners cooked us dinner, which was the tastiest food I've had this journey. After dinner we all talked and worked on little origami stars. I won't go into why we did that.
This morning's walk was gorgeous; a welcome contrast to yesterday's trek along a busy road.

Neil Sounds like a beautiful past day. The challenge of maintaining effort and spirit day after day, through varying terrain, weather, and other conditions must be substantial. Glad it brings gems like the one you described.
