Camino challenge
I don't really know which village I'm staying in tonight. I left my guide with a map in the hostel. My first spotting of a burro on the Camino. Not a good idea since it moves at a snail's pace. All it wanted to do was eat the weeds. I wonder if it stays on hostel grounds at night, or how it traverses the cities.
Long hike today. Felt like it stretched to eternity. Ubiquitous features of the Camino landscape are wind turbines, scarlet poppies, and the sound of cuckoos in the fields. My jeans seem to have disappeared in the last wash. I'll be glad if I have any clothes or belongings left by the end of the hike. Things magically disappear.

Neil Fewer possessions mean less weight. Moreover, these losses remind us that we don't need all we think we do. Toothbrushes, clothes, food, maps. Who needs them? (Perhaps what you learn is that stuff like that is damn nice to have despite the appeal of a minimalist lifestyle. Good to have the funds to replace stuff like that when wanted.) Regardless, you still have the sounds of cuckoos.
Cary Maybe its more metaphorical. Like your loosing emotional baggage along the way.
robin don't lose your sunscreen if you are losing your clothes...views sound lovely. take inventory of your desired things before you head off -wondering how they feel about nudist hikers en route!! be safe.
