Hey!
Well the last few days has been spent visiting two of the most amazing national parks. We entered into Death Valley National Park not long after leaving Las Vegas. Its the largest national park with the highest and lowest points in North America. It is desert and has an average temperature in the summer of 40 degrees!! You can see in the photos 'Badwater' which was 282 feet below sea level and was made up of slabs of pure salt. Then other parts of the park had massive sand dunes and huge canyons! We stayed that night in a tiny village in the middle of this all-bit scary and freezing.
Thursday was spent driving 410 miles to Yosemite National Park and unfortunately we were one day late on making the drive 3 hours shorter as the mountain pass closed for the winter meaning it took a gruelling 8 hours on some very bendy roads around cliffs. We arrived to a cute vintage log cabin in the woods which thank goodness had heating. Due to major snow weather warnings we got up early and headed into the park. As you can see from the gorgeous photos we did a bit of hiking and jumping across rivers-reminds me of the good old duke of edinburgh days! We're staying in Yosemite again tonight and then its back to the coast towards Sacramento first and then San Francisco. Again, enjoy the photos and leave a comment of the message board!
