Hey again!
Well on the megabus to DC at the moment. Had a great but freezing time in NYC! We arrived Monday late afternoon and spent the evening around Times Square with Ryan having his first experience of the amazing funny Charmin toilets. On Tuesday we took the ferry to Liberty island and Ellis island where we got amazing views of the city skyline. Unfortunately the panoramic photos are too large to upload onto the website. We did the holiday lights tour around downtown and walked around the famous Rockefeller Christmas Tree and skating rink. This is the centre of all the Christmas buzz in New York with the Saks Fifth Avenue lights show opposite.
On Wednesday we took the downtown tour and got off at Ground Zero and had a look around the Memorial Museum-I think everyone remembers the where and when they found out about 9/11 but reading through everything in the museum makes you really realise the enormity of what happened. We took a walk around Central Park to the ice rink, Plaza Hotel from Home Alone 2, FAO Swartz (large toy store with the big piano from the film 'Big'), Apple store and then to Macys.
On Thursday we went to the top of the rockfeller centre to have a great view over the whole city (unfortunately again the panoramic photos are too large for website). We then took the uptown tour of New York and got some lovely sunset views over the skyline. Thursday night was what I had been looking forward to the most during the trip and it did not disappoint. Phantom of the Opera on broadway-absolutely superb-goosebumps during most of the first act.
So last stop now Washington D.C.!!

The coldest place on earth must be on the ferry out to the statue of Liberty ! Enjoy DC - there a some more lovely places to see there too.
