The room we stayed in at Scotty's was 'The Nunnery' (oh dear) an all girls dorm, which wasn't too bad because Amy and Megan joined us-we didn't like the last people! The rest of the guys we know stayed in the mixed dorm next to us. Sadly they left us on Friday, but hey, there's plenty of other people! Scotty's was a small hostel right on the beach, perfect size to pretty much know everyone around. We spent Friday lazing around after saying our goodbyes to the guys. We also booked our next leg of our journey to the surrounding islands, including a sailing trip. Last night we had our classic meal of pasta and tomato sauce, whilst others cooked stir fries, spag bol etc. around us-jealous! I think we're going to have to think of different cheap meals to cook, any suggestions are welcome. We visited Mint Bar after and got our free drinks then made it back to the hostel to have a little jammin' session. The two Chris's played bongoes and guitar whilst we all sang around the pool, sounds cheesy but they were amazing. The next day we had to pack up by 10am ready to check out, and left Scotty's to arrive at Townsville. We stayed at Globetrotters for a night, it was weird because we shared a room with Heather who knew all of our friends from Scotty's, so we obviously got on well. Today we got the ferry to Magnetic Island and are staying at Base hostel, it's literally on the beach, absolutely amazing views. We are staying here for two nights then moving on to Airlie Beach on Tuesday, to hopefully meet up with the Scotty's crew. The following day we're going to sail around the Whitsunday Islands (3 days /2 nights) then return to Airlie beach, from there we plan to go to Hervey Bay and Fraser Island. So much to do, are you jealous yet?!! xx
