Left the campsite early this morning and headed off the find a diner nearby to have breakfast as we had no water at our campsite. Found one not far away that doubled up as a diner by day and bar by night. They had a good choice of breakfasts though, I had a veggie omelette. They had one of those American food challenges on the breakfast menu, a 5lb, 12 egg omelette filled with peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and sausages, served with home fries (little cubed chips) and two rounds of toast. Mark, one of the Brits decided to give it a go, he had 1 hour to eat it all and if he managed he would go on the wall of fame, no one had done it yet. When it came out it was enormous, he did very well but couldn't manage the toast at the end, the manager gave him a t-shirt anyway for trying.
After breakfast we got back in the van and drove the 2 hours to Niagara. We went on the Maid of the Mist boat trip into the falls and then walked up the steps alongside them, we got very wet!
The falls were incredible, so impressive the sheer amount if water coming over them but the surroundings were also really pretty, lots of greenery and the water itself was a lot clearer and bluer than I had been expecting.
After spending some time around the falls we crossed the bridge and border over into Canada and went to our campsite to set up camp. This one was much better equipped and everyone was very pleased to be able to have a hot shower. In the evening we went back down to the falls to view them by night from the Canadian side. At night they are all lit up by different coloured lights that keep changing colours, looked very impressive and we took lots of pictures.
We then had a walk around, went to a bar and then to a casino as they say the Canadian side of Niagara is like a mini Vegas, I thought it was probably closer to Blackpool!

Heather I loved the Canadian side - but didn't go round the back streets much - which is probably just as you describe. When we were there the snow lay thick along the side of the falls and tasteful Christmas decorations made the area look really pretty. Loved it! I'll take a look at what you thought of Toronto. xx
