Happy Easter! Today started out really early as we checked out at 7:30 and waited a bit for the bus to come. We tried to scam the system by swiping our old cards. Well, of course the one time we do that, a guy is checking. We ended up paying 2.50 euros instead of the 1.70 per person. it was actually pretty funny. We got to the airport with no problem. We go through security and of course Louise gets checked, not her liquids, just a quick pat down. We went to our gate and people were already lined up so we stood there for some time. We board with no big deal and actually got seats by each other! We ate our bread and cookies pretty fast, we're fatties. I finally got a window seat but knocked out for about a half hour. There were no customs, I guess Europe just doesn't care. So no France stamp for us, sad day. The real task was finding the RER to take into Paris. While walking that way, Kels swears she saw Dennis Quaid, but no one else did so believe what you want. We find where we need to buy the tickets from but discover we need change. Eventually we find the change machine and we buy a ticket. Well, it's the wrong ticket. Oh wait! Before we buy that ticket we walk to the machine and a homeless man pinches Louise and starts talking to us in French. We keep walking and he follows us! He then pinches Kelsie and we all turned and yelled at him to go away. He holds us a two Euro and keeps talking and says ohh Americans and pinches Kelsie again. So now we really yell at him. He walks away and starts yelling at us, waving his cane, and flicking us off. We might have been offended if we understood him, but we just laughed. That's when we figured out we bought the wrong ticket. Actually we figured that out when we put the ticket in and the gates didn't open. Anyways, we go back and buy the right one that costs 9.25. Seriously?! It should not be that much.
So we're on the RER and this guy starts playing the accordion. We didn't give him money. We got to our stop and caught the metro to a street close to our hotel. We navigated that pretty well and got there a bit before one. The man at the front desk was only expecting two of us and we were pretty scared that there wouldn't be room for all of us, because that would be our luck. He said that he could put 3 of us in one room and someone else by themselves. I said I would take one for the team, but we ended up not having to do that because he put us all together! We went out and got pizza hut, don't judge us, it was Easter and most things were closed. It wasn't my ideal Easter, I missed my family a lot. =/ Nothing beats hunting Easter eggs in my grandparents back yard. So we've been hanging out and looking at the Paris book to plan for tomorrow. Kels napped forever, on all 3 beds… We tend to have a good time doing nothing! I love these ladies and I'm happy I came with them! Tomorrow should be an awesome time but it might be pretty chilly!
