Hi everyone...Emily here.
So, Phi Phi, which i can safely say was my favourite place so far!!! It was gorgeous! There are no roads in Phi Phi it is so small that everything is in walking distance, so when we arrived off our ferry we headed off with another couple, who were staying in the same place, in the boiling hot sunshine with our heavy bags on our backs! We eventually found the place after about 15 minutes of walking, slightly disappointed to say the least! The room was tiny, with 3 beds crammed next to each other and a tiny walkway to the bathroom which was soon taken over by our rucksacks. The bathroom wasn't much better, the tap didnt work and the shower was practically above the toilet! I know we are girls and should be able to multitask but showering whilst going to the toilet is'nt my ideal!!
So first things first was to dump our stuff, grab some food and head straight for the white sand beach! As you can imagine there was'nt really much to our days here, it was mainly beach, beach, beach, but why not when they were so stunning!!
The first evening we went to a nice Italian reataurant on the beach, after dinner we headed to some of the bars further along the beach (all of which had various different fire shows) we had some drinks at one and then moved onto another where they played a balloon game, basically everyone runs round like madmen with a balloon attached to their ankle trying to pop everyone elses balloon in order to win some free alcohol! Funny to watch! They started up the fire limbo again and the more you watch it the more tempting it gets...so up we went each taking it in turns and 'attempting' to take pictures. Around one in the morning Becky called in a night and me and Kerry stayed out for a few more drinks, the rest of the night involved a thai guy managing to limbo under 30cm, another thai guy proposing to me and making me a straw engagement ring and lots and lots of dancing!
The next day we were very lazy and decided to sleep as much as we needed to catch up, kind of regretting not waking up 'til about three in the afternoon!! Oops! O well, we quickly got up grabbed some food/breakfast and headed for the beach again. That evening we had a wonder around some of the shops before having dinner at a different restaurant back to tradition we ordered several different thai dishes and shared them between us, had a drink on the beach and then back to bed ready for our day trip the next day.
The following morning we were up and about ready to leave on the long tail boat at 10.30. Today we had a trip planned to go all round the different islands: Bamboo island, Mosquitto island, Monkey beach, Viking caves, Pileh bay and finally Maya bay (the beach). This was a brilliant day out and the islands were beautiful!! Stopping off to snorkel in different places and have lunch, jumping off the boat loads of times in Pileh bay and just wishing we were camping on Maya bay, finishing off with watching the sun set (or sort of, it wasn't really that great and was taking so long everyone decided to head back early).
That evening we had burgers and ice-cream for dinner from a random stall (it started raining, very weird experience, standing under a shelter waiting for it to pass, ice-cream in hand!) and headed to the Irish pub. Had some drinks in there and then decided it just didn't beat the beach so headed back there. Here we bumped into Rich and Bret again (the policemen we met in Krabi) the tables had turned it was now their turn to only be out for 'one' drink as they were leaving for Maya bay the next day, so me a kerry managed to keep them up til 7 in the morning!! In the meantime Rich persuading me it was a good idea to jump through the loop of fire (Kerry not getting the picture meant doing it 4 times!) and randomly getting my tattoo touched up! Another brilliant night!
The next day was again a day spent lazing at the beach, however to our disappointment there was no sea, the tide was so far out that it was a mission even to touch the water! We met up with the boys again before they headed off and just lounged around in one of the beach huts. That evening me and Becky had a massage each and a pedicure and then headed back to pack up our stuff ready to leave the next day.
The following morning it was Kerry's turn to have a massage, having packed everything up and checking out (and managing to find a bottle of aftersun lying around) Me and Becky headed off to the internet whilst waiting for Kerry. Had some lunch and then walked to the port to catch our ferry to Phuket. Bye Bye Phi Phi!
