Hmm I took like two photos today and they were both of food. We spent the majority of the day moving from Kawaguchiko to Osaka which took 6 different trains. The first three were okay but when we got onto the Shinkansen there were no seats and for 40mins we had to stand around. Fortunately at the first stop after we got on a crap load of people got off so we finally got a seat and the journey was a lot better after that.
When we finally got to our hostel in Osaka, U-en, we checked in and hung out in the common room for a while but the wifi wouldn't connect so we didn't stay long. Our hostel is pretty cool. It's a nice building with all the rooms on the second floor above a restaurant. Our room is right near the common room which is a bit sucky because it'll probably be a bit loud but we'll see how it goes.
We had eaten pretty poorly throughout the day, just a few bakery things, so we hopped on three more trains to get to Dontonbori, a large shopping street. We found a place to have some curry rice which had an English menu which made it easy to order and it was quite tasty.
After dinner we strolled around Dontonbori and went into a few shops before stopping at a gaming arcade that happened to have the Mario medal game. So we ended up playing that for an hour or so. Mostly because a nice young Japanese couple gave us a s*** load of their medals when they left.
After the medal game I had a caramel banana crepe cone which was delicious and Shannon had a seven stacker burger from Lotteria which he had two bites of before deciding it was mostly just mush.
We did a bit more strolling before making our way to a subway station and then walking home.
It's been a long but uneventful day. Looking forward to exploring Osaka a bit more tomorrow. Hopefully I sleep okay tonight.
