On our way to Austria, an Italian conductor taught us a very important lesson: write the date on your Eurail ticket before you get on the train. We forgot to and BOOM, €100 fine. Goodbye from Italy!!
We know there are a lot of great things about Austria, but unfortunatly, we didn't get to see much of them. It was very cold and rainy\snowy. Steven left the second day to go on an excusion up into the mountains of Innsbruck. He spent the day snowboarding while Kate walked around the city. It was our first day apart and it was actually very, very hard. The hostel had an amazing breakfast which is SUCH a bonus. We were actuallz able to get full.
One of the most memorable things in Innsbruck would be doing laundry, ironiclly. The washer took about two hours and when we finally opened the doors to take the clothes out, a gallon of water dumped onto the floor...after we cleaned that up it was no surprise that our clothes were still soaking wet. We mean SOAKING!! We had to ring everything out (until we got blisters) before we put them into the dryer. Four hours later and sleeping on a couch the dryer finally stopped but the clothes were still damp! After some additional time, it was finally done...at 2 A.M.
We also found out that the Family Guy in France is called Les Griffins. oh boy. On To Switzerland.
