It was labour day today so everybody had the day off and we attended a big picnic in a park with a variety of entertainment planned. Some locals that recognised us from the playground project came and sat with us. They were very nice and spoke some English. After watching quite a few traditional and modern dance routines we made our way home, stopping for mineral water on the way back. This turned into a water fight which was most welcome in the 30 degree heat!!
The road home was windy and bumpy, it was a lot like being driven in a rally car off the beaten track! We stopped to observe a half eaten snake a bird was scavenging. It was still alive so we left nature to it.
Later we went back to the bar. We laughed because whilst Simon was waiting for us he'd been kept company by a drunk man that wouldn't let go of his hand and kept kissing it. I'm not sure how he gets himself into these situations. Walking back through the village at night is a little eerie as there few lights and plenty of dogs that suddenly start barking and run loose.
