Hey guys,

this is only a quick one. Just wanted to let everybody know how happy I am becoming here. I thought this was the best thing I could have done for myself and every day I am proven right! These first couple of weeks have been very up and down, I've been having an awesome time but missing home a lot as well. But then I thought "Kate, you d*** head! You're only in Europe for a year. Taree, your friends and your family are not going to change while you're away so snap out of it!" And I did! There will still be times where I miss home a lot. But if I don't make the most of each day now I will surely regret it! I'm going to share the 3 most important lessons I've learned so far:
1. Patience really is a virtue! I never fully understood what it meant until now. In order to be happy you first have to be patient, it doesn't happen overnight.

2. Friends don't make them selves! The easy thing to do is give up when nobody around you speaks your language, but I quickly realised you have to make a genuine effort with people, and it will pay off.

3. Those who wish to remain an important part of your life, whether you are a world away or not, will make every effort to do so. Be it an e-mail, a message or even just a quick Facebook wall post, they will stop at nothing to see how you're going and listen to your adventures. You know who you are, and I love you all very dearly!

That's it from me, off to Ireland for 3 nights this weekend and I can't flippin' wait! So I'm sure I will have a butt load to post next week,
