Hey,
Arrived in the windy city of Wellington after a long coach drive from taupo. It was late when we arrived so we just had some food and went to bed.
The following day we headed for the Te Papa museum. There were exhibits on earthquakes, local Maori culture and native New Zealand plants and animals. After the museum we headed into Wellington and had a wander round the shops and got our bearings. After lunch we found the cable car which took us up to the botanic gardens and we had a leisurely stroll back down into town. In the evening we had a couple of drinks and watched the rugby on telly.
the next day we had to check into a different hostel as we were staying an extra night to go and watch the rugby. headed for the Westpac stadium which you reach by walking along the windiest walkway in the world (this is why Wellingtons team is called the Hurricanes). got to the stadium and had a stroll round. I got myself some beers and Kate got a hot dog and we waited for the game to start. the stadium was really quiet untill just before kick off not like being at kingsholm or Twickenham. The Hurricanes won it was a pretty good game unfrotunately there were not many tries.
Off to the South Island next a night in Picton then onto Nelson.
Bye Andy and Kate xxx
