We descended into the crater today for our full day game drive. The reserve has been left within the crater of an old volcano and has the appearance of something from a lost world.

20 mins in and our good luck seemed to continue as we watched a national geographic style episode involving a male lion acting as a decoy whilst a lioness stalked a buffalo in a group of three.

It seemed she was crazy to take one on by herself but she went for it only for all three buffalo to chase her off repeatedly in a game of cat and mouse that went on for about 30 mins in front of us.

We completed our sighting of al the big 5 game with 4 rhinos seen from a distance. Many other fantastic stuff including about 10 different lion and a picnic lunch close to a hippo pool.

I'm writing this blog now from my balcony overlooking the crater where we were today with a nice cold beer, doesn't get much better than this!
