Wednesday was another not so eventful day and I was rather sluggish again to get moving.
I am not sure if it's the polluted air, the unsanitary drinking weather or the humidity but something is making me feel lethargic and edgey in this city. Even walking about the city is painful haha.
I walked to Pantip Plaza today home of the electronics mall in Thailand and wow this place has it all from fake rip off electronics to full blown best you can buy gear. I was thinking to buy a cheap tablet but now think if I buy anything it will be a good one like the IPad.
The food here is also playing havoc with my stomach which is far from enjoyable - so its safe to say travel is not always safe, comfortable and without worries but that is why I love it - everyday new challenges.
Thursday is much like previous days board out of my brain and desperate for someone to hang out with! One cool thing the house next door to where I am staying have been baking biscuits for the last two days and the smells have been mesmerizing to say the least! It is actually somewhat of a bakery where 10 or so women spend all day preparing biscuits and packaging ready to sell, anyways yesterday they brought a bunch over and today for breakfast I tried and wow absolutely amazing. Ofcourse I could not stop at one and ate about 10 :)
Most of the day I layed out in the sun and tried to plan my escape from Bangkok. At the moment it is looking like I will head south to Koh Phangan - I don't have any Accomodation and the island will be absolutely packed with the 30000 extra foreigners for the Xmas / New Year full moon parties. My old friend from University will meet me there on the 21st and she has a cheap room where I can keep stuff so that might be my only option.
Later in afternoon I decided to head into city at the same time 200,000 other people did and so got stuck in a crazy traffic jam!
I walked around an area today called Salim and visited a few travel agents and asked about getting to Ko Phangan: looks like the best way will be train to Surat Tahni and then ferry over to the island.
Another Couchsurfer arrived tonight from Switzerland so that makes 3 of us here now.
