Unfortunately the rain was still pouring down today so out went the hopes of visiting the zoo. I had a good sleep-in and at about 11am myself, Grace and Ellen headed to the morning markets to pick up some fresh ingredients for our lunch cook-up. I tried more unusual deep fried things today along with various dried fruits, fish meats and dried pork. We headed back and started on lunch- sautéed beans and mushroom with garlic, soy sauce and rice sauce/ king prawns, basil and garlic / cockles / butter fried cod. The girls did all the cooking and I just observed - amazingly simple cooking but the trick was good fresh ingredients. The meal was to die for and I savored ever mouth full.
The rain continued so we sat around and talked until there was a break and I ducked out to pick up some fruit - pickled plums and dried olives. In the evening I decided to go for a walk into the city and too another Night Market. The city is really beautiful at night with many neon lights, billboards and various architecture. The markets were good selling all kinds of foods from oyster omelettes to fried chicken butts. I settled on some fish ball thing and some other strange sausage thing that I think was full of flour and now is giving me mad stomach cramps. Thankfully the rain has stopped for now, lets just hope it holds off for few more days!
