Lazy Day!! Waking up today with 100s of itching mosquito bites was anything but a pleasant start to the day. After my morning exercises and some delicious Oaxacan hot chocolate that I had brought yesterday from the market I was ready to go down the beach. However just as I was about to leave Luis (a worker at the hostel) offered to take me and Tess to the city and check-out the small surfing neighborhood of Zicatela. First we spent a few hours wondering around the city and ended up back at the market so that the guys could get a late breakfast. We then checked out Zicatela - famous surfing beach and area in Puerto Escondido - very touristic, expensive and full of surfers - so not really my cup of tea. It was then back to the hostel for a few hours before heading back down the beach with Tess and out towards the point where the lighthouse was located for some more awesome views of Puerto Escondido. We sat out the point chatting, watching the 100 surfers do battle for a wave and watching as the sun disappeared over the horizon - I could certainly get used to this. The Mosquitos came out soon after the sun had disappeared and so it was time to head back to the hostel and get some insect repellant. The hostel was full tonight (only about 16 people) and the guys at the hostel decided to cook-up burgers for everyone but unfortunately the gas ran out just as they begun to cook so it was off down the road to the fish & chips shop. Another good night and quiet possibly my last night here in Puerto Escondido as tommorow I head inland to the city of Oaxaca.
