After a better nights sleep - I say better as I still spent every hour waking up, I got up early and prepared for my trip or to Playa Blanca. The first thing I had to do was catch a bus to PasaCaballo, I waited for the bus out on the side of the highway and nearly died in the heat again. The temperature here is only 32 degrees most days but the humidity is almost unbearable. The bus took about an hour to get to my destination and it was absolutely jam packed with people that made the trip not so pleasant. On arrival I was met by many locals trying to sell me a trip on a Moto-taxi I ignored them and kept walking. I needed to find a ferry across and was told the big car ferry was the one to take. I found a boat and did my best to converse with the guy in my broken Spanish - I didn't really feel good about this guy or the boat so I walked back and found the touristica ferry. People kept trying to turn me around but I found the touristica car ferry and walked straight on - amazingly I walked on and off without paying (the crossing was only about 100 meters). On the other side I was once again hassled to get Moto-taxi, I decided to keep walking but it was getting very hot, this big truck came past with a Colombian in the back and he signaled for me to jump on - the problem being the truck was in motion - I chased it down and jumped on only to have driver tell me to get off as the truck wasn't heading to Playa Blanca. After another 10 minutes of walking two girls on Moto taxis came past saying they had just payed about $15 for the ride out - wow I thought I will keep walking, just at that point a Moto-taxi came past and I managed to barter him down to $3 for the ride. The ride out was very scenic and quite a distance (I could never of walked) funny thing to my driver was almost out of fuel and every time we went uphill the bike would almost die. In the end we made it in one piece and I organized to meet him back at the start of the beach for my ride back. The beach was beautiful but crammed with little sunshades and Colombians trying to sell everything from Oysters, crayfish, shells, jet ski rides and snorkel sets - kind of annoying but seems to be everywhere nowadays. I swam for a bit and talked to some of the locals in their limited English and my very limited Spanish - the Colombian people are generally very friendly even if they realize they can't get a sale or dinero out of you: a sincere trait. After lunch the weather turned and the sun disappeared so I decided to head back, my Moto-taxi wasn't waiting for me so I managed to get another for even less then I had paid coming out. I jumped on the ferry and once again got away with not paying, next I jumped on the bus and I was back at Mel's within the hour. I ran into Mel just as she was about to jump on the bus to work - I was however very tired and didn't want to join her in the city. I brought a few things at the market, checked my emails with some free wifi I found and then rested up. Now that Chris is all booked for Peru I have to start getting a route plan down so we can send some couch requests out - so the rest of the night I spent reading my guidebooks.
