After a terrible night of debilitating heat and 1000s of mosquito bites I crawled out of bed exhausted. The house I was staying in was so stuffy and will go down as one of the most uncomfortable nights of my life. At around 9:30am I decided to walk to the markets and buy a few fruit and vegetables as I was going to cook for Mel tonight. The markets were an absolute maze of chaos and after all the stories I had been hearing about muggings and robberies I was on high alert and prepared for the worst. I kept my phone and wallet hidden and walked with confidence - making direct eye contact with anyone who would stare at me. I picked up some avocados, mangos, Tomatos and a variety of other vegetables for around $2 - bargain. At around 11am I called Mel and she came and met me at the markets, she brought a few things including an awesome little fan for me - thank god I was dreading the thought of another sleepless night. We stopped in the market for a bite to eat and some juice and then we made our way back to Mel's walking - something she had never done but I insisted it was a beautiful day and only a short walk- the problem being I had to carry all the shopping including a huge drying rack Mel had brought. We made it back by one and then had a bit of a rest as the heat had once again zapped the life out of me. After my nap I decided to go find some Internet which proved much harder then anticipated - I managed to find a very weak wifi signal and was able to just check my emails. In the evening I prepared Aussie burgers and a garden salad for my host Mel - unfortunately whilst I was cooking the power went out and I had to cook with just a headlamp, we also had to eat in the dark which was a shame but Mel enjoyed none the less. Mel had planned to go out and I was supposed to join her but after little to no sleep lastnight I decided to stay in and get some sleep.
