After a really nice sleep in a comfortable bed I was up ready for a relaxing day with my new friends. I did some yoga, surfed the Internet and uploaded a few photos before having a late lunch with the girls. Tonight we are doing a traditional Asado (Argentinian BBQ) at the girls Mums house so I am very excited about that. In the afternoon we relaxed a bit and then headed into the city for a drive and the best thing was I got to drive which was a new experience for me as they drive on the other side of the road here. We went to the coast and parked the car and sat drinking Yerba Mate and eating sweet biscuits for a few hours. We then headed to the supermarket and brought some wine and a few things for dinner before making our way back to the house. The good thing is that Lucia's Mum and step Father live literally 5 houses away so we didn't have far to go for dinner. Lucia's Mum as expected was lovely and could only speak Spanish and her step Father was an Irishman with red hair and so I got on very well with him. They started the Asado when we arrived which tonight was chorizo, a big side of beef and chicken all of which is slowly smoked. I chatted to Antonio whilst drinking very good Argentinian wine and discussing his work which is Teaching English at a private school here in Calafate. The girls were inside making salads and after a while it was too cold outside so we went in also. Everyone was getting hungry so we started on some avocado salad and guacamole. At about 10 we started and what a feast it was; first all the salads and small dishes were layed out: tortilla, lentil salad, egg salad, avocado salad, garden salad and potato salad and then on our plates (which were actually cutting boards) Antonio brought in the Chorizo for us all. This was just the first round and I was in food heaven getting my red meat fix, next came the side of beef and cooked to absolute perfection with blood still in the centre it absolutely melted in the mouth. At this point my stomach was saying no but in came the smoked chicken and wow what a treat this was with the meat falling from the bone and so I was easily able to find room. More wine, more laughs and then Licias Mum brought out the Calafate Chocolates (Lucia's Mum works in a Chocolate shop here) - usually I don't eat sweets or chocolates but trying to live by my new motto of trying everything I tried the various chocolates . There were white chocolates with nuts and Raisens, dark chocolate with coconut and berets and the most delicious were chocolate slithers stuffed with rich lemon and cherry. The chocolate was so good that I had to take some home with me for tomorrows breakfast. After thanking Lucia's Mum and Antonio for the wonderful evening and all the great food we walked back to Lucia's where we drank some tea and then called it a night. Another unreal day in my mad mad life :)
