I had trouble sleeping lastnight but tried anyways to have a bit of a sleep-in. At around 10am I fed all the dogs and put the two of them on their chains out the front whilst the others stayed locked up out the back. The weather is beautiful today so after a cup of tea and another chat with my Argentinian friend I went and sat in the sun - for the first time in over 2 months I could get some sun tanning action. The plan today is to walk to the city after lunch, ask about tours to the glacier and then go see Ana at her work; use her Internet and maybe grab a shower. After doing my exercises and eating lunch I packed my backpack and got ready to walk to town, luckily as I was just about to leave Ana arrived to water her plants and was able to give me a lift back to town. I went to Ana's Hosteria where I could use the Internet; sent a few emails and made contact with my host in Chalten. At around 4pm I headed into the city to try and find a place that would hire me a helmet but after hours of walking around I realized it was an impossible task. As I was walking through town I ran into the other Couchsurfer Hernando and went for a walk around the city with him; visiting the cultural centre and a few other places in the city. The weather was still perfect so we went and sat in a nice park and did the typical Argentinian thing - drink Yerba Mate and eat sweet cakes. As Hernando is also going to Chalten we talked about possibly doing one or two hikes out there and attending the festival that is happening on the long weekend. At around 8pm I decided to start making my way back out to the house and I was treated to a beautiful sunset along the coast; although it was a long walk it was far more enjoyable today. After organizing the dogs I was finally able to make sense of the shower and get a warm shower. Hernando arrived back and we discussed some more plans for tommorow and I learned a lot about Argentina and its health and education system. It's actually pretty nice having someone local to hang-out with and get info from and it is obviously far better then be stuck out here all by myself.
