Today I was up early again but the weather wasn't so good so I decided to go back to bed. I had organized to pick up a half price ticket to a music festival here - happening next week but unfortunately after waiting all morning I didn't hear anything from seller. I went for a bit of a walk around before returning to Heli's for lunch. Tonight is Caro's birthday; a German Couchsurfer I met a few weeks ago that I have been hanging out. The party is at Jess's house so I took a bus there which took nearlly two hours. I was one of the first to arrive which was nice so that I could help out a little and chat with Jess's new Couchsurfer Almog - from Israel. People started to arrive around 8:30pm so we got all the things we needed from Jess's apartment and took them upstairs to the rooftop terrace. The rooftop terrace and dining air comes complete with kitchen, dining table and views - the perfect place to celebrate Caro's birthday. I had taken a nice photo from our first gathering together so I gave that to Caro as a Birthday present along with a nice note, I also got a photo for Jess of all of us at her parents house on Sunday. People continued rocking up and in the end we had about 15 people from all over the place: Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, Austria, Colombia, Israel and Australia. The red wine was poured and we clinked glasses to start the celebration. The food was mainly vegan but very good and included soy mince dishes, baked egg plant, salad, cheese and cream dips, rice and a few other bits and pieces. We chatted, laughed, shared stories and once again just enjoyed the moment. A lot of the people were Couchsurfers and the rest were people Jess had befriended since arriving in Buenos Aires. The red wine continued to flow and it wasn't long before everyone got a little tipsy and started to loosen their tongues a little allowing for more interesting conversations. The birthday cake was brought out and we sung happy birthday in about 6 different languages which was a real laugh and a few bottles of dessert wine was cracked and the drinking and eating continued. All these dinner parties, all this drinking, food and desserts is getting to much - I notice I am eating desserts every night now and my sweet-tooth is out of control; craving sugar all day long. At around midnight we moved the party downstairs and after a cup of tea people started to slowly disperse. A girl also from couchsurfing I am hoping to go to the music festival with was nearby to Jess's house and was a good friend of Heli's so Heli and I organized to go meet her at around 1am. We met Milena and straight away kicked it off and chatted for the next 3 hours. We organized to get tickets of one of her friends and go to the festival together. We then walked Milena home at about 4am before taking the bus back out to Heli's place arriving at 5am - all to common here in Buenos Aires.
