Day 12
We really don't have much energy for much today! So it's a mid afternoon start and dad has suggested we try Kowloon Bay as we haven't been there before. It's not a beach but an urbanised area with shopping Malls and something called Megabox. We can see Megabox on a map at the station so it can't be too far away? After wandering through Plazas 1/2/3 we give up and head back, then see a sign to MegaBox. On investigation, it's actually a bus stop with mega queues for the free shuttle bus to MegaBox. Must be good if hundreds of people are going there.
You can't miss the building, it is Mega. Ground floor is H&M, Quiksilver, Roxy and other familiar stores. There are at least 16 floors! 2 are full of Chinese Restaurants. 2 are for Ikea. Toys R Us on another. Oh, an ice rink and a cinema including imax! Su-Yin stocks up from H&M, I go to Ikea for a lampshade and more cookies and chocolate, and Kai gets himself a pair of Nike Air Max convincing himself he's saved over £100!
Our work is done here and we have to join the epic queue again for the shuttle bus.
We really need to get Kai some clean clothes so Kai and I venture off with an Ikea bag of dirty laundry via bus and train to Sunshine City Laundry at Wu Kai Sha station. We just about work it out between us at the DIY launderette and hang about for an hour. Slightly disorientated on our return trip about where the bus stop is. Taken us about 2 and a half hours in all!
