Day 20
We're off to Disneyland in 32c and a public holiday! #E42 airport bus takes us from Shatin across the bridge where we change to #R8.
Hoards are walking the long path to the entrance. Kai's keen to get to Space Mountain although I have prewarned him it's not the same as Paris. Everything is bright and cheerful and we're just in time for the 1pm parade! Dumbo leads the way. There's flying bumble bees, bouncing Tiggers, swirling princesses and swinging batons. Dreams can come true as little ones are invited to dance with the characters.
Lunch is in the banquet hall, conveniently next to Mickey's Magic 3D show. Jasmine's magic carpet really does appear to float above the audience. Hands reach out to grab sparkling jewels and everyone ducks to avoid the water spray.
Next stop, Adventureland and the jungle river-ride. Everywhere is busy and queues are 30-40mins. On board, daytrippers are snapping pictures of the hippos, elephants and exploding volcanoes as if they were real!
Toy Story Land is a new addition with a drop parachute ride, slinky dog ride and a Andy's car ride. We've missed the water parade, was looking forward to cooling down. Dad and I head to The Lion King show for more singing, dancing and animatronics in the air conditioned jungle theatre.
We rest for a while in the restaurant. Su-Yin says it reminds her of Thailand. It's very tropical, tranquil and it's almost a full moon.
Crowds are already seated on the ground infront of the Magical Kingdom in anticipation of the fireworks. The Main Street is busy too. 8.0pm and more "whaaaaaaars". It's a magical display with plenty of shooting stars and sparkling fountains. It's all over in 10-15mins before everyone streams out like ants towards the buses and MTR.
Back at the hotel, there's about 30 Australians with paddles in sports bags. Today was the International Dragon Boat Championships in TST.
We have to think about packing. Only so we know how much room we have for a last day of shopping.
