Today, after sleeping in a few hours later than planned, we enjoyed Mar Bravo's breakfast buffet. Lots of delicious breads and fresh juices. Emily Busta would love how "pulpy" the OJ was! Next we drove north to Coimbra.
It was very rainy in Coimbra today. We had a great lunch (I'm sure Corri will post more about her experience), and booked rooms at the Riversuites hotel. The rooms are quaint, with a closet bathroom. It's perfect! Julie noticed a Barbie brochure in the lobby, and demanded to see the exhibit. Turns out it is housed in the children's museum. With the rain, we were the only ones there (it's outdoors)! It was so much fun! We saw everything the museum had to offer, despite soaking wet feet.
Dinner was fun-Julie tried her hand at the Portuguese language, as our server spoke no English. She appreciated Julie's efforts and was very kind to us! We had hand-stuffed sausage with and egg, rice, and French fries. Also a DELICIOUS veggie soup! Andy, Corri, and MA had port for dessert, while Julie had a chocolate cake that resembled tiramisu. So good. One thing we are learning is, despite how empty the restaurant, the servers don't want you to leave! We were at the place for over 3 hours!
