Hi all,
So after the accident I had the realisation that I was going to be stuck in a cast and on crutches for the next 6 weeks! That's quite a big chunk of my trip so I decided to try and make the most of it, hey, I am in Bali after all. I moved back to Kedin's, which is where we stayed when I first arrived in Bali. It has a pool and a restaurant so it made life easy. It was a great decision as I met a great group of people who I spent most of my time with. After going to a decent clinic, Bali International (SOS - not so good), I found that I wouldn't need to have an operation and that I could just let it heal. Apparently if you're going to have a fractued leg, this is the type of fracture to have! So my next 2 and half weeks consisted of sunbathing and having fun.
Highlights of my time begin with Century night. Now I've never heard of this drinking game (surprising I know) but it started as a power hour - 60 shots of lager in 60 minutes, apparently it's the game to play before a big night out. Only John and Will decided to take on the challenge, which, after 60 shots, turned into the bid for membership to the century club! That's 100 shots in 100 minutes, so just another 40 to go. They both managed it but I think really Will was the only true member cos I'm pretty sure you have to be able to stand up to be a confirmed member John! There were also my nights spent in the sports bar watching the footie, it soon became my local with all us regulars at the bar. We then found a restaurant called Alley cats that served Sunday roast and a proper curry, so we spent alot of evenings there - great food ad owned by a Liverpool fan!
Kedin's is a great place to meet people and I saw so many people come and go. Most of whom will be in Sydney at Crimbo so will be great to meet them there. We did meet one odd bod though. Some of the lads decided to have a magic mushroom night as it is legal in bali and they sell it everywhere. The rest of us just sat around and waited for the fun to begin. After a couple of hours of nothing I was just about to go to bed when the craziest thing happened. That night we had met a guy called Chuck (should have known from the name really), he was apparently John's brother but couldn't have been more different. Will was just saying that the mushrooms must have been duds cos nothing was happening when Chuck jumped up, dived forward and tried to beat up Will! He swung for him a couple of times before it was broken up. Everyone was in shock, not least me as I was sat next to Will and how he didn't jump on my leg I'll never know cos he knocked the chair from under my leg and my crutches over! Anyway, when asked why he did it he said " Will told me to!" He was cuckoo. I quickly went to bed, but not after checking my door was locked about 10 times. He is the only dodgy person I have met s far, so not doing too badly.
So to the last night. There were quite a few of us leaving on the same day, 9th of November, so we decided to have a big night out. I was in great partying form as my first class seat on Singapore Airlines (the best airline in the world) had just been confirmed! We all had a great night, a few Tequila's were downed and well it had to happen - since I can't dance properly at the moment, a dance off has been arranged for when we meet up at Crimbo! Get practicing Rob cos let's face it, I threw out better moves than you with only 1 leg.......See ya in Sydney
Lots of Love Julie x x x
