After a couple of days, Trista wanted to check out this restaurant that Edgar recommended her so me, Caroline, ashlee and Trista went to the Abbey, which is this Irish Pub. We met up with Nick, Jamie and Kyle. I got pasta which was a bad choice since their specialty is american food and not talian. I'm mad I didn't get a burger because I'm craving some american food pretty bad right now even though Italian food is amazing, a burger sounds pretty good right about now. However, it was still decent. After dinner me, Ashlee, Kyle, Trista and Jamie didn't want to go out so we decided to walk around and check out the area. It was probably one of my more favorite nights because we found all these cool little shops and piazzas in the small alley ways and streets of trastevere. After wandering for a bit, we suddenly came upon Piazza Navona (the famous piazza with the huge founatains)! It was so cool that we just wandered into here and we got to see the thousands of vendors selling fake paintings, purses etc. etc. We sat down for a bit and it was really quite beautiful as I was realizing how amazing it is that I'm living in this beautiful place. It was very peaceful and I was really happy with the way things were going. After sitting for awhile we decided to go home since it was getting late and we took the late nght bus home (after getting a little lost haha).
The next day I had my second adv 428 class and we basically watched a bunch of car ads and analyzed them down to every second. While I thought this was cool and interesting how much you have to analyze a commercial, I would soon realize that this is all we would be doing and our teacher's way of teaching is kind of random and super boring. Oh well. After we had tom's class and after he told us that him and Edgar would be taking people to the Spanish steps and the Trevi Fountain that night. So after class I went home, got ready and then me and the roommates met up with Edwin, Kyle, and Jamie at this little restaurant called Le Fate (the fairy). It's cool because they have a student discount where for 10 euro you get an appetizer, main course, dessert and a glass of the house wine. However, that night the meal was chicken parmesan and it looked like it came straight out of the freezer and it was dark meat. It wasn't very good and I was pretty sketched out. Afterwards we took the tram a bit farther and met up with everyone before we went to the Spanish steps, which are really cool. Being here before I wasn't as amazed as I had been the first time, but I still walked to the top and went into the fountain at the bottom. We then went to the Trevi fountain which still amazes me. It's so big! The picture for this blog is of the trevi fountain. We had to watch our purses very carefully because this is one of the prime spots for theft because it's so crowded and everyone is busy taking pictures. I didn't get to throw a coin into the fountain because before I knew it we were leaving, but I was ok with it because I did do it when I was here before. Myth says that if you throw the coin into the fountain you will return some day and I did!
After Edgar took us to this Irish bar he liked called Scholars. We almost didn't get in because they thought we were a bar crawl since there were so many of us but we eventually did. It was really big which was cool because we were able to fit all of us in comfortably haha and at first it wasn't crowded but by 11 pm it was packed! We all really liked it though and decided to come back. It's also right by the bus station which is really convenient too.
