Today Jack and I celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary.
We left Tsawassen in the rain and it rained for most of the way to Kamloops. The clouds were really low so we could not see the mountains very well - but from time to time you could see a peak through the clouds.
We took Hwy 5 which is also called the Coquihalla Highway . The highest point we got to was 1400 metres and the temperature dropped to 6 degrees. One of the hills rose so steeply that we had to pull over twice to let the truck cool down. A tow truck driver pulled over to see if we needed any help. He told Jack that the locals call this stretch of road the Highway to Hell.
We stopped at the Merritt Visitor Centre and bought some souvenirs.
We arrived at our campsite Kamloops RV Park which is really right next door to the BC Wildlife Park. Will visit that on Thursday with our friends Charmaine and Norm that are coming tomorrow from Quenel to visit.
