Best day.
Unbelievable day, everything seemed to work perfectly. We got up and boarded our Reef tour ferry. Had the intro and safety chats with the crew then we were underway.
Arrived at our first reef and bundled out for some amazing views, this area was 1-5m deep so you could really see some colourful fish and reef formations.
Again an amazing lunch by the tour company on the ship! We ate this as we travelled to our second destination. We jumped in, popped our heads under and to our suprise there was nothing beneath us but sand 20m below - we quickly realised we had to put the leg work in to find the reefs and after a short swim we approached some underwater cliffs, that rose up and created the reefs we had come to see. This is when we started to really see the reefs we'd been expecting from the movies/pictures etc.
We played around on this reef for ages, currently this time of year is jelly fish season but we only saw 3, and we just waved them away with our fins. I think Nick has some underwater pictures from this day - but I'm not sure what dive? We'll have to check. Back at the boat there was this big fat fish which knows to come everyday to get some food. This thing is like a dog and loves being patted and stroked.
We got back on board and dried of as we were about to take our Heli ride back to the coast. We took a little speed boat over to a pontoon where our ride was waiting, hopped on board and took off after a couple mins. This was an amazing ride where we saw some cool views and have loads of movies and pictures - we also got free hats with the company logo and wore them with pride.
Back in town we popped to the main mall just on the off chance that Avatar may still have been showing in 3D as Nick hadn't seen it and it was! It was my third time seeing it but it was worth it.
