I thought it might be a good idea to update my blog, as it's been a while. Sorry about that, I've been a busy man. So as I recall my last blog was when I was in Bali chillin whilst I waited for my farm work to start. Such a long story to explain but to cut a long story short, they kept on sugar coating our start date. I decided to forget the farm work as they were wasting my time, I could have earnt so much more money working for those 2 months, messing around on the West Coast and Bali. Oh well, things happen for reason, and they certainly do as my plans for the next year have been made and booked. However, before I go into that I shall just get you up to speed on my travels back to Melbourne. I arrived back here and stayed in some homeless hostel, which was just horrific. There were druggies everywhere and drunken people coming into the dorm singing at stupid times in the night. I could not wait to leave that place. Myself and Kyle found a place in Southbank which is just south of Melbourne CBD with an en-suite and walk in wardrobe. This wasn't our original plan as we have a new member to our group 'Danny', but it was proving difficult to find a room share for 3 people or even my own private room. A private room was going to cost double to what I'm paying now, so I need to room share. Danny did find an apartment just down the road with a bunch of Vietnamese people, which he liked because he loves Asian people. My new flat is much more spacious and has more room than our previous apartment in the north of the CBD. Although we just had the bed bug exterminators in. We share with 3 other Turkish guys who are pretty cool. One of the guys English isn't great but they are funny guys. Not as clean as I was hoping but I can cope with it as I have my own bathroom anyways. Work wise, I got my old job at the Crown Casino which tied me over until January. Then I found another job at a huge corporate bank called Suncorp working in the health insurance department. I miss the corporate life. I have done 3 weeks of boring training which is great as I got full pay for 3 weeks to sit there and go on lots of breaks. The building where I work is located right in the CBD on the 33rd floor with some amazing views of the city. I only walk 15 minutes to work which is a nice change to using the trams.
Christmas day was the best Christmas of my life. I went to St Kilda beach for a big massive beach party. At the start of the day me and Kyle cooked ourselves a big fry up and then headed down to the beach with Danny. We all thought that it was going to be a disappointing Christmas because it was just the 3 of us. However, that all soon changed as the day went on, as more people we knew we saw all at the beach. With the alcohol flowing I was speaking to everyone. I drank that much that when my niece Mia called me whilst I was on the beach I just burst out roaring as I missed home, but I think the alcohol was talking. I don't remember anything of the last half of the day so I believe I had a great time! I got zero presents, so thank you all. New Year's Eve I worked in the day so that I got double pay which was fun. So I didn't see the New Year in but I did go to a day festival called Picnik Electronik which was booming! I hope you all had a great New Year.
Moving on to my upcoming plans. I have booked my flights to New Zealand on 4th May which is when my visa ends and we have hired a camper van for 2 weeks and going to camp around the South Island. Then fly back to Sydney to start my epic east coast trip to Cairns for 4 weeks. Booked on a big tour as it works out cheaper to book through a tour group as our friend who works at the travel agent gave us a big discount and plus took of his commission. I paid $2,500 AUD for 4 weeks which includes all my transport, accommodation and activities. The only other expense should be alcohol, oh and food. Then fly to New York for 2 days to break up the draining flight time to Cuba. Fly to Cuba for my birthday and meet my parents and my best mate from university for 2 weeks. Then fly to Mexico and work my way through Central and South America! Epic trip, I am literally buzzing for it. I still have no idea what I wish to do when I finish traveling…. hopefully not returning back to the UK. I'm considering looking for work in New York or Dubai afterwards.

Heinrich A Kiwi friend of mine insists that in your first sentence the word "may" is not correct and "might" should be used instead. I am German speaking but keen on learning English. Your blog is interesting and reminds me much of my various fantastic visits to down under.
Jordan Thank you for pointing out my error, I have now corrected it. Please don't use my blog to learn English as I am not the best at writing, I just create this blog for my friends and family. I am glad you find it interesting.
