Great Ocean Road was so much fun. It's an old persons trip but I had lots of fun because I drove most of it along those windy coastal roads was just amazing. I picked up the rental car Saturday morning at 9am right after my early gym session, picked Danny up and set off towards the Great Ocean Road. Car rental was only $56 each and petrol was $80 there and back. I decided to get an automatic which I was pleased about as it made my life much easier not having to worry about changing gear. As Kyle as my navigator is never a great idea so I just follow the road signs when I can. The Great Ocean Road was full of Asian tourist who have no scooby how to drive. Amazing drive mind you, and views along the way almost made me crash. I stopped off at all the view points; 12 Apostles, London Bridge, Loch & Gorge, Lorne and Kennet River. There are some great pictures in my Australia album of this trip so check them out. I managed to drive all the best roads and routes, so I enjoyed myself more than the other two, it felt like I was in a go kart bombing around on the roads. The only highlights of the trip, was some blonde German chick reversed into my rental car…. what a clown. I was very lucky she waited for me to return back to the car to tell me, she could have driven off and I would have been $500 out of pocket. She apologised and said she would get insurance that day and claim on it the next day. So all I had to do was say she bumped into me a day later so she could claim. She was the one $300 out of pocket for her excess. I couldn't have been more grateful that she didn't drive away, I would have been so pissed off. Had fish & chips at a famous spot along the Great Ocean Road but was over priced and were nothing like UK fish & chips!! Don't even have vinegar. Beeing away for the weekend put me behind with all my routine of cooking, washing, work and gym, never again.
