Today I took off my watch for the first time and left it in my room. It was marvellous. I was not conscious of the time for almost the whole day. Things just happened when they happened.

Today was a roam free day in Lipari. I chose to relax on one of the lazy lounges by the ocean for most of the morning. I went down to the piazzetta for lunch, explored the cathedral on the mountain and then had a gelato, a coffee and a rum babba from the best little pasteceria (a little piggy I know, but when in Rome!). I also rode on the back of a vespa which was the best fun. Some of the others chose to rent them and tour the island.

I sat by the ocean and took in the afternoon sun, collected my washing from the laundry and now Im home.

All in all it was a great, slow, lazy day. Tomorrow we head back to Sicily via ferry and Im honestly not sure where we end up tomorrow night.

I guess Ill find out soon enough.
